Grocott & Murfit is proud to be collaborating with Foras at this year’s RHS Sandringham Flower Show, taking place from 22–26 July 2026, marking the first time the prestigious event has been held at Sandringham.
Foras, a specialist company based in Stow Bridge and renowned for its expertise in water features, garden accessories, tiles and flagstones, is exhibiting at the show and has invited Grocott & Murfit to work alongside them in bringing their vision to life. Their display, “Head for Flowers,” is a thoughtfully designed garden inspired by the landscapes, heritage and character of Norfolk.
The structure of the Foras stand is a striking architectural building, designed by our in-house architectural designer Molly Sutton. The structure draws inspiration from the historic Dutch influence that helped shape Norfolk. Much of the county lies below sea level, and for centuries Dutch engineers worked alongside local communities to construct dykes and sluice systems to protect the land from flooding. Their legacy remains visible today in the county’s distinctive architecture.
Reinterpreting the traditional Dutch gable in a contemporary garden setting, the structure features a sweeping arched canopy with a movable canvas sail, allowing the space to adapt to changing weather conditions, providing shade on warm days or shelter when needed. Mechanical louvred panels on either side can be opened to invite in light and air or closed to offer protection, creating a dynamic and responsive environment.
Designed as a flexible outdoor living space, the structure incorporates a bar and seating areas, blending architectural heritage with modern design, an elegant and practical extension of the home intended for year-round enjoyment. Foras’ influence is woven throughout, with a carefully curated selection of tiles and materials enhancing the form through texture, shape and colour.
