Project Overview
This beautiful new build property replaces an existing bungalow in the heart of Holme-next-the-Sea, one of Norfolk’s most sought-after coastal villages. Designed by award-winning architects Thomas Faire, the three-storey family home has been carefully conceived to reflect the architectural language of the local area while delivering generous, high-quality modern living.
Architectural Form & Layout
The house is designed as a traditional farmhouse-style composition, featuring a principal corps de logis complemented by a rear wing and a low, discreet garage. This hierarchy of form ensures the building reads as a well-balanced rural dwelling, comfortably scaled to its setting.
Materials & Traditional Craftsmanship
A rich palette of traditional materials was central to the project. Brick-coursed chalk and flint walls are detailed with Norfolk red brick quoins, arches, and oversailing dentil courses, all laid in lime putty and sharp sand mortar. The use of traditional coarse chalk reinforces the home’s connection to local building methods, while second-hand clay red pantiles, timber-framed windows, and a timber garage complete the authentic farmhouse aesthetic.

Located within the North Norfolk Heritage Coast, an area designated as Outstanding Natural Beauty, the completed home enhances the character of Holme-next-the-Sea.
