From Agricultural Heritage to Luxurious Two-Storey Living
This exceptional barn conversion transforms a traditional agricultural structure into an elegant two-storey residence, seamlessly blending heritage character with contemporary luxury.
The original form of this barn has been carefully reinterpreted to create refined, light-filled living spaces suited to modern coastal living. The architect on this project was Robert Lord & Associates and the Structural Engineers was Stephen Jones Engineering.
Structural Renewal & Roof Reconstruction
The existing roof was fully removed and meticulously reconstructed, allowing the building to be re-engineered for its new residential purpose. A steel portal frame was introduced to ensure structural integrity. Due to the sensitivity of the existing masonry, a crane was required to temporarily support sections of the barn, ensuring precision, safety, and preservation of the original fabric. New aluminium windows and doors were installed throughout, featuring floor-to-ceiling frames that enhance natural light while introducing a refined, contemporary contrast to the original structure.
Open-Plan Kitchen & Dining Extension
A beautifully designed open-plan kitchen and dining extension forms the heart of the home. This space has been crafted to maximise natural light and connection to the surrounding landscape, offering an inviting yet sophisticated setting for everyday living.
Energy Efficiency & Modern Comfort
To enhance thermal performance and long-term efficiency, new high-grade insulation was installed within the perimeter walls. The property is further equipped with a new gas boiler, delivering reliable, modern heating while maintaining.

The interior specification is uncompromising in quality. Luxury kitchens and bathrooms were installed throughout by Arcadia, combining timeless design with premium finishes and exceptional craftsmanship.
