A decade after delivering the original home, we returned to this Docking property to create a refined single-storey extension set within three acres — a quietly confident addition defined by elegant architecture, premium materials and enduring craftsmanship.

We were delighted to return to this beautiful property more than ten years after building the main house for the client. Their decision to come back to us, despite us not coming in the cheapest, is a testament to the trust, craftsmanship, and quality they experienced the first time around. This extension project offered us the opportunity to build on that relationship and deliver another meticulously executed space tailored to their lifestyle.
Elegant Design and Premium Materials
Designed in partnership with Atelier Associates, the project comprised a flat-roof single-storey extension that provides two additional bedrooms, a wet room, a snug, and a gym, linked to the main house via an elegant glazed walkway. Although the extension was relatively straightforward in form, every detail was approached with our signature high standards.
The external palette combined brick, flint, and timber cladding, creating a refined, textured finish that complements the existing home. The roof was finished with a Sarnafil single-ply green roof, enhancing both sustainability and aesthetic appeal. We incorporated zinc straight and curved box gutters, along with matching zinc rainwater goods, delivering both durability and a crisp architectural edge.
Crafted for Comfort and Long-Term Performance
To elevate performance, the extension features triple-glazed aluminium doors and windows, ensuring exceptional thermal efficiency and a clean contemporary look. Internally, comfort and energy performance were prioritised through an oil-fired combination boiler paired with in-screed underfloor heating, providing a warm, efficient environment year-round.
The result is a beautifully crafted, seamlessly integrated addition that enhances both the functionality and luxury of the home. It was a pleasure to once again bring the client’s vision to life, reaffirming the long-standing relationship we are proud to have built.
