Project Overview
At the time of renovation, this historic Norfolk building was empty and in a dilapidated state. The project involved a complete gutting and refurbishment, including a new commercial kitchen, a modern bar, and restaurant spaces on both the ground floor and part of the first floor. The conversion also included guest accommodation, with both the main building and outbuildings sensitively adapted for comfortable stays. Every element of the refurbishment respected the building’s listed status, integrating modern amenities while preserving its historic character.
Architectural Transformation & Materials
The refurbishment carefully retained the building’s historic character while upgrading it for contemporary use. Reclaimed Norfolk red bricks, lime mortar, and clay pantiles were used to maintain authenticity and durability. All doors and windows were crafted by in-house joiners, ensuring bespoke, high-quality finishes throughout. The combination of traditional materials and expert craftsmanship allowed the historic building to be revitalised while preserving its heritage.
Interior Design & High-End Finishes
The interior spaces were transformed with a focus on both function and style. Arcadia designed bathrooms were installed to an exceptionally high standard, complementing the new bar, restaurant, and guest areas. The two-story barn conversion provides flexible spaces for dining and hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons while meeting modern operational requirements.
